Text version of secrets

1. I love Aeris and I love Tifa. But [Zack/Cloud] takes all. I feel bad because he’s dead and he’s damaged and it’ll never end well.

2. Unpopular Opinion: I want Sora in Dissidia. Just to see the wank. I’m fairly sure this makes me a bad person.

3. People are expecting [Versus XIII] to save Final Fantasy. I really wish I could believe in Nomura.

4. I liked Cissnei better.

5. I haven’t played either of these games but I’m already kind of fond of these characters, thanks to people in this comm. I really hope I can play them someday. [FFIX/FFVIII]

6. I think she’s a huge inspiration. Thanks, Lightning, for showing me how to be stronger.

7. I usually never tell people who my absolute favourite villain is. S!b lol exdeath hur hur hur

8. I fucking love [Angeal] (that is totally not a secret.) He’s got to be the first character I don’t want to do REALLY dirty things with. Nope. I just want some sort of terrible, gooey marriage thing. Think about it. He’d be perfection. S!b well, this is going to make it obvious, but I’m Nanny Fucking Ogg! Where’s the filth?! I just don’t know who I am any more!

9. There needs to be more fic about the Aeons and their Fayths. I WILL PAY GOOD GIL FOR THIS.

10. I DON’T LIKE CHOCOBOS. THEY’RE JUST GIANT CHICKENS. EVERYONE SHOULD RIDE GIANT CATS INSTEAD OR GOATS OR ZEBRAS (OR SOMETHING MORE UNIQUE)

11. I don’t get the love for Battle on the Big Bridge. It’s an okay song, but… s!b everyone seems to adore it

12. Despite the horrible plot I really enjoyed the gameplay of DoC. Being unable to jump was really lame, though

13. Fanfic is the only reason I even like Quistis

Hey, ExDeath is awesome, anon! I mean, sure, Teapot is fun to laugh at, but that's part of what makes him likable... That, and I find the whole void concept interesting.

Teapot? /never heard Exdeath called that before. I personally think of him as the Evil Not-Bonsai. (Presumably if you cast Mini on him, you'd get evil and very disgruntled bonsai.)

Seconding number 9 so many times. The Fayth are so fascinating!

And 3 just boggles me, because I see people claiming that Versus is going to be old-school FF and I'm like "...whuh?" also I don't really think FF needs to be "saved," but that probably should have been a secret submission of its own, lol xD

I also agree with 2. Because watching our fandom self-destruct from the safety of our little bubble of sanity? Hilarious.

Agree with you so much. Rather, I think FF can't be saved by what it does, because it's not a game series for this particular era.

Eh? I meant that I don't think FF requires saving, because I've personally liked the last few games. Suffers from quite a bit of spin-off heaviness that I wish they'd cut out, and obviously there are some serious hiccups as the series evolves, but I don't have a fundamental problem with it undergoing that evolution, as some people do.

The old-school FF that everyone loves (IV-X) isn't a series for this era, that's indeed very true.

Ah! I may have tried it... once. ...okay, now I'm confused as to why RPGs would try to appeal to what seems to me to be pretty much the FPS market, and headdesking.

Admit that I threw an hyperbole in there. Seems like every other game's doing the "hey it has something great and we have a massive following for it, now let's dilute it down with MORE GUNS" and funnily enough FF isn't doing it yet!

But I do find FF tries too hard to be a WRPG. Which is concerning, consider it wants to be Bestheda/Bioware with the "oh Skyrim is cool for sandbox people like sandbox I KNOW TIME TRAVEL RIGHT", but FF studios have the opposite strengths and weaknesses as the other two and instead of pleasing everyone, they just annoyed the heck out of everyone.

I love XIII. But even I'd say that if they didn't try to smother their creativity by pasting on a bunch of "but will the west like it now?", it would've been so much better.

Every time I see people freaking out over Versus, a part of me wants to slap them upside the head. The more you over hype, the more likely you are to disappoint yourself horribly when the real thing comes out. D:

It feels very much like 'stop having fun, guys' so I'm rather disappointed in myself for even thinking it.

I think it depends on the level of 'freaking out'? There's nothing wrong with being excited about it, but once you set up enough expectations...

Yeah. I don't think you can walk out of that one happy. (It's an issue with lots of games and their sequels, I've noticed. The fanbase adores the first! And then explodes with drama over the second because it's not exactly like the first/what they expected/what they wanted etc.)

It's probably lingering bitterness from the years leading up to XIII's release - I am dead serious that people would say they were looking forward to Versus more because Lightning was a woman and men were cooler. I think I'm still mad about it. :/

I think what gets me about Versus is that people were already freaking out over it before they even knew anything about it. I believe all S-E said at the time - when people started obsessing over it - was that it is going to be "darker."

It just kind of... baffles me, but I think all the hype just comes from the character designs.

I'm mostly just sad that Versus still hasn't appeared. ;_; I want to play as all those hot, facial-haired men, SE! Stop being so mean and just let me haaa-aaa-aaave thee-eee-eeem ;_______; It DOES boggle my mind though, the sheer amount of fanfic that's around for that game. HOW DO YOU KNOW WHAT THE CHARACTERS ARE LIKE?! STOP IT, YOU WEIRDOS.

...I will of course, still be buying the godforsaken game. If only for the aforementioned facial-haired men (I don't really give a fig for Noctis, not enough beard for my liking!) I JUST LIKE ME SOME FACIAL HAIR ON MY MEN, OKAY?! OKAY.

as for #13: I kinda agree, anon! I never used to be interested in Quistis until she accidentally became part of my final party (and rocked my world with her awesome), and until someone mentioned that they ship Quistis/Irvine to me, and then BOOM! I ship it too and I suddenly adore her. Wtf self.

Haha now I'm not on my phone I can actually reply more! Saddened that I didn't get to shove my entry in consider I am in such an Internet draught but alas. I can never do Secrets well.

1. Yeah, I kinda got this vibe from Cloud. I'd be interested to see any relationship of his developing into a bit of Meryl and Snake, or oh god Raiden and Rose but somehow I doubt SE has the guts to do that.

6. In my case, Lightning (and Cloud) made me feel okay about my own personality defects. Still working on most of it and don't see any real progress any time soon, but I still appreciate that they exist.

11. I liked it because I always associate it with Epic Moron (TM).
